HAIR TODAY, GONE TOMORROW.

Just like clockwork, I shave my head every two years for the past 20 years...today was the day, it was hot outside and I was READY!
Here are a few pics I took this evening..

I considered leaving it like this, I liked this shape BUT it kinda defeated the purpose and probably would have been just as much maintenance
So I went ahead and just cut it all...Im not an in between person, its all or nothing..and this is my FAVORITE hairstyle of them all.

No thats not hair growing outta my back!!! LOL

Im looking forward to getting made up and doing my next photoshoot  with my "new" look..stay tuned

I love the "in-between" look alot!! But you are a beautiful woman and you can pull off the shaved head look. Can't wait to see the next photo shoot!

Thanks ya'll, I feel about 10 pounds lighter!

This is something that I've always wanted to do again. I'm just afraid that I won't be able to get a job. The look suits you very well. Bald women are sexy and confident. There's almost this air of regalness-if that's a word, lol.

Stacy..dont be afraid of not looking professional, we have to stop being afraid so our daughters wont grow up in the same fear, I wore my hair like this as a professional with an office and I also wore my afro as a professional, went on interviews like that as well ..people really dont care how you wear your hair as long as its neat and clean..and you cant get any neater than this..also you dont have to cut it THIS short.

How Beautiful, and what an inspiration you are for the rest of us. I used to wear my hair this way before I locked it up, but thanks to you I'm going to change things up: again. It's so important that we keep change and newness in our lives, its part of what gives us that SPARK! @Stacy:people will respond to you according to your self-perception. If you walk in knowing & loving yourself and your history, you can ONLY win!

It doesn't even matter, Rachel. You look great with or w/o the hair. It's the "you" that makes you fabulous!

Just gorgeous! JUST DOWN RIGHT BEAUTIFUL! I wish I had the bone structure to pull the new hair cut off like you! OMG you look amazing!

I still would like to ask what did you do to your hair to get it to grow that long over just 2 years. I've been natural for a 1 1/2 and my hair can only dream about your longer length.

I absolutely love your confidence..it shines through in your photos. You certainly inspire others. :-)

Super gorge!! I thought I was the only one who did this! With your head buzzed you're forced to really bring it with makeup, and accessories because your face is now the main focus (and you don't have to deal with your hair which is a plus for me). Do you notice that all your curves are accentuated perfectly with no hair on your head? Lol. I do, and I love it!

Love it each and every single time!

Rachel have you ever considered doing the dreds again?

I really admire your willingness to change *snap* just like that, you are right too....we can not be afraid of change or what others may think/say

Gorgeous!!!!!! I loved the start and finish results! I wish I knew how to shape my own hair, though.

Looks great! i used to shave mine once every 2 years as well, got lazy and now I only cut a few inches off when it starts to get too long. Looks great!

When I saw your post on NP, my first instinct was to go "NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"

But that's just me missing your hair more than anything. Lord knows, you look great!!

Here I was thinking I was alone. Two years later, I'm short haired again. Love the look on you!

I love it! My jaw dropped though when I saw all that hair in the sink. I have seen your pics when your hair was this short before...it was gorgeous then and it is certainly gorgeous NOW! You are fab! I would love to share this on my blog...if you don't mind. :)

When I get my 'Fro to be as long as yours used to be, I'll be in Hog Heaven. I want to have a big view obstructing Fro like that. My head's too big for the new look. Way too big. LOL! It looks good on you though. Now, excuse me, I have money and some Rachel Stewart earrings to buy!

Wow, now you have given me the confidence to go ahead and do my second BC!!!

Foxy not-so Brown said...

Thank you Chandra!

omg YOU ARE STUNNING BOTH WITH OR WITHOUT HAIR WOOOW.....YOU ARE ONE BRAVE LADY

texture me natural said...

OMG!!!!...I wish I was as brave as you are. You are rocking the full style, the in-between, and the final cut like the star that you are. I am currently transitioning and I can't muster up the nerve to BC. I am four months post but I don't think that I am cute enough to go for the BC and I think my head is too big for a short look. You are simply stunning. You most definitely have a new follower.

OMG! You look fab both ways :)

It's really not for me, as I had my hair in a low cut for many years. However you are a very stunning woman, you have beautiful features. Whatever you do looks good on!. Blessings!

Taneica said...

....Ya know, Rachel, I want to yell at you for chopping off all of that goregeous hair, but your face is so beautiful, even without all the hair. It's very haute :-)

You have a very pretty face, it looks great on you. I think many women are strikingly beautiful with very short hair.

I was just curious as to why you do it every two years? I'm new to your blog and didn't know if you addressed it already...

Foxy not-so Brown said...

Hello Erica..no reason in particular...and I didnt even realize it was every 2 years till i really thought about it..I think thats about the time when I get bored with my look..and once again..this is my favorite style!

First of all, I'm mad that this is my first time ever seeing your blog. I follow you on fb and twitter and love your jewelry!
Well..here I am now!
You look great no matter what! Love your new bc! :O)

Wow! I love all 3 looks. How were you able to cut the middle hair so EVEN??? I've always wondered how to do that with a tight fro. It looks like a deva cut. Could you post a blog on how you did it?

IN TERMS OF ME said...

BEAUTIFUL!

Anonymous said...

That's cool, it's funny b/c I actually find myself cutting several inches off my hair every year or so just because I feel like it, I wondered if anyone else did the same kind of thing

you are so amazing! I love this post!
